As a member of the Forward in Faith movement and The Society, St Ambrose operates under the patronage of Saint Wilfrid and Saint Hilda, with episcopal oversight from the Bishop of Richborough whilst remaining part of the Diocese of Winchester.
The church maintains strong community connections through various groups including the Bournemouth Ward of the Society of Mary and the local Chapter of the Guild of Servants of the Sanctuary.
Access outside service times can be arranged by contacting the Priest-in-Charge, Fr Adrian Pearce, or a Churchwarden, with the church accessible via the western end of the Wessex Way spur road (A338).
