Bournemouth International Triathalon

 If you've ever fancied yourself as the next triathlon superstar (or even just someone who'd quite like to survive swimming, cycling, and running without collapsing in an ungainly heap), then mark your calendars for Sunday 14th September 2025. The Bournemouth International Triathlon is returning to our gorgeous seafront.

The Bournemouth International Triathlon isn't just one event but rather a smorgasbord of aquatic and athletic delights. There's an aquathlon with a 750m swim and 5km fast and flat run, plus an aquabike covering the standard distance, alongside the main attractions of sprint and standard distance triathlons.

Starting on the west side of Bournemouth Pier, the swim portion launches you into the sea where you'll battle waves, before it's onto the bikes for a fast bike course towards the market town of Ringwood on the edge of the New Forest. The cycling leg promises to be a proper leg-burner, taking you away from the seaside hustle and bustle into the Hampshire countryside where the air is fresher and your lungs will be working overtime. Then comes the run – a course along the seafront promenade towards Sandbanks and back.

All entrants must either be a BTF member or have a BTF day licence – that's British Triathlon Federation for those not in the know. If either of these are out of date, entrants must pay £6. So whether you're looking to tick triathlon off your bucket list, chase a personal best, or simply want an excuse to buy some rather fetching athletic gear, the Bournemouth International Triathlon awaits.
